While apple butter has been a favorite for years in farm country, some people are unfamiliar with this delicious fruit spread. It’s simply made of fresh apples and spices, and despite its name, contains no dairy butter at all; the term “butter” refers only to its smooth consistency, and it’s use as a spread for breads. The Gravenstein apple has a naturally tart flavor and is perfect for Linn’s Apple Butter.
